As an ACE Functional Training Specialist, you'll be able to help clients from all backgrounds move more efficiently, prevent injury, improve their balance and flexibility, build strength and improve their overall quality of life. You will be able to work with a wide variety of clients ranging from competitive athletes, to post-rehabilitation clients, to those who need to improve their balance and joint stability.
What’s in the curriculum?
The ACE Functional Training Specialist Program is designed for fitness and allied health professionals who want to gain a deeper understanding of how to train the body to move more efficiently. You will learn how to apply functional movement techniques into your training, including understanding fascia, assessments, the application of appropriate exercise progressions and stretching techniques that will help you train clients to move more smoothly.
How do I become an ACE Functional Training Specialist?
To become an ACE Functional Training Specialist, you will complete each of the modules listed below, as well as complete the quizzes associated with the material.
Anyone may pursue the Functional Training Specialist Program; there are no pre-requisites. Upon completion, you will be recognized as an ACE Specialist and a corresponding certificate will be available in your My ACE Account. ACE Specialist credentials do not need to be renewed, nor do they expire.

The length of time and number of videos for Module 1, plus the text book was difficult without workbooks/summaries in-between each video and the book. If I had the time to go through all videos and the textbook within a few days it would be easier. But when your work schedule requires you to spend 30 days to go through the material it was difficult to retain the level of detail to pass the quiz. Modules 2, 3, and 4 followed the process and format I was accustom to from ACE. Module 5 provided a workbook that I could study from. Module 1 had 7 videos, 45min to 1hr 30min in length and no workbook. I am very happy with ACE and will continue to acquire educational programs from ACE. All other programs and certifications I have gotten from ACE I would rate as a 4 or 5, and would highly recommend. Also, I have very, very happy with what I have learned from my ACE PT and Health Coach Certifications.

Excellent content, course syllabus was easy to follow. Learned much that I can apply immediately to my small group of beginner exercisers working on posture and basic stability and mobility.
