Life-Changing Strategies for Life-Changing Results
As a health and fitness professional, you are on the front lines of the battle against inactivity and poor health. Two-thirds of Americans suffer from obesity or overweight, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, leading directly to increased risk for a variety of chronic diseases. With the right knowledge and the right approach, you can help reverse this trend. Successful weight management requires going beyond diet and exercise. By understanding how to implement meaningful lifestyle changes and coach your clients to adopt them, you will enable your clients to maintain a heathy weight over the long term.
The Weight Management: Changing Behaviors to Change Lives video training will detail the knowledge and coaching skills necessary to help your clients make life-altering changes. Taught by Registered Dietician, nutrition and fitness adviser, public speaker and educator Dominique Adair, M.S., R.D., the course will explain behavior change strategies as they relate specifically to weight management and give you tactics you can immediately use in your practice.
You will learn:
- The metabolic and behavioral contributors to overweight and obesity.
- To evaluate weight loss programs based on efficiency and academic evidence.
- To implement meaningful behavior change initiatives that support healthy weight management.
- To incorporate these behavior change strategies into client/class member relationships.
I really wish that the term 'weight management' would not actually equally to 'weight loss' in health and wellness anymore. It is mentioned that weight management would be connected to someone being underweight which is also detrimental to a person's health but the focus stayed on weight loss. It seems they should change the title of this webinar. There is some good information here, particularly as a refresher or another angle to look at what you know already. Also, it would be nice if ACE could get a more diverse group of instructors, after watching videos back to back and hearing them talk about how different bodies can be and how we should be aware of that as health and wellness professionals, it's odd to not have that reflected in this work.
Great delivery and content. She also provides very practical examples and tips which are very useful. I would recommend this course to other health coaches.
