Changing Habits—Not Diets

You know how important it is for your clients to eat healthy, nourishing food. What do you do if they ask you to create diet or meal plans?

The Nutrition Coaching: Changing Habits, Not Diets course teaches you how to equip your clients with the skills they need to feel confident and be self-reliant when making healthy food choices, whether at home or on-the-go. While nutrition planning falls under the purview of registered dieticians and other medical professionals, nutrition coaching is part of the scope of work for health and fitness professionals. With this video training, you will learn how to coach clients to improve their nutrition and help them create lasting behavioral changes so they can make lifelong, healthful decisions.

Led by Justin Robinson, a Registered Sports Dietitian and the director and co-founder of Venn Performance Coaching, this course delves into the behaviors that motivate us and those that keep us from reaching our goals. Based on the neurological “Habit Loop,” this video training will help you understand how three elements—cue, routine and reward—can rewire undesirable habits to become positive ones, and help you create real, lasting change for your clients.

You will learn:

  • The basics of nutritional behavior change—including elements of readiness to change and motivational interviewing
  • The Habit Loop, and how to assess and correct negative behaviors
  • The latest nutritional and diet trends, and how to present information to clients that they both need and want
  • The value of awareness
