ACE Expert Review

Athleta is well-known for its extensive line of functional, yet fashionable fitness gear. Most pieces come in a wide range of colors and sizes, from XXS to XL, and are tailored with a woman’s figure in mind.

The Chakra Tank is one of Athleta’s most popular items and features a built-in shelf bra, a scoop-neck front and an x-back. Comprised of a heavy-duty, sweat-wicking fabric called PilayoTM , this multi-purpose tank provides excellent coverage under the arms while still allowing freedom of movement. This tank is available in a wide range of colors and provides medium support to A and B-cup women, and lower-impact support to larger-breasted women. The only noticeable drawback to this top was its thick, reinforced seams. The seams are not flat and the one down the back of the tank proved particularly uncomfortable during supine floor exercises.

Athleta’s Chakra Tank is a flattering, yet versatile piece that is suitable for lower-impact cardio activity or strength/flexibility activities, and easily transitions between the gym and everyday activities. This tank runs true to size and continued to holds its shape after multiple wearings/washings.

What we liked:

  • Versatile and well-made
  • Flattering lines provide great coverage
  • Sweat-wicking fabric that holds its shape

What we didn't like:

  • Thick seams, particularly along the back, can cause discomfort
