Lynn Katherine Herrmann, PhD, MPH, is a public health expert and fitness professional who cares deeply about educating people to live their healthiest lives. Dr. Herrmann earned her PhD in Community Health - Health Promotion with a Kinesiology focus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her work as Professor of Public Health and Health Education at Northern Illinois University, she researches the varied influences on health-related behaviors, especially physical activity. She has numerous publications, the latest being about the efficacy and safety of YouTube exercise videos. She teaches health promotion classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Her favorite content to teach is designing effective public health messaging and communication. She is an American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, Personal Trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist, Behavior Change Specialist and Subject Matter Expert. Dr. Herrmann is honored to expand her involvement with ACE by serving on the Certification Advisory Board.
