ACE Instructor Qualifications

Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer University Curriculum Instructor Qualifications

To teach ACE's Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer university curriculum (provided by ACE for free), the following qualifications must be met:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in exercise science

If you do not have a bachelor's degree in exercise science, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in any field, AND
  • At least three years of experience teaching academic exercise science courses at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, AND
  • A current exercise NCCA-accredited exercise professional certification

Health Coach University Curriculum Instructor Qualifications

To teach ACE's Health Coach university curriculum (provided by ACE for free), the following qualifications must be met:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in exercise science, nutrition or psychology/counseling

OR

  • A current license or registration as a healthcare professional

In addition to meeting one of the two criteria above, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • At least three years of experience teaching exercise science, nutrition, or psychology/counseling at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, AND
  • A current ACE Health Coach certification

Medical Exercise Specialist University Curriculum Instructor Qualifications

To teach ACE's Medical Exercise Specialist university curriculum (provided by ACE for free), the following qualifications must be met:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in exercise science

OR

  • A current license or registration as a healthcare professional

In addition to meeting one of the two criteria above, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • At least three years of experience teaching exercise science at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, AND
  • A current ACE Medical Exercise Specialist certification
