Client success starts with an inclusive space

Extensive research shows that systemic inequities contribute to a higher rate of chronic health and disease for marginalized (BIPOC) individuals. As a health and exercise professional, understanding the hidden biases within the fitness industry is a critical step in getting as many people moving as possible.

In this course, you’ll learn objective ways to inspire and lead others by leveraging principles associated with Emotional Intelligence. Through genuine care and concern, you can create more demand for your services and discover ways to create authentic spaces for belonging and change.

Led by Katrina Pilkington, MS, a Certified Wellness Specialist and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Professional, this course will help you better understand the hidden biases within the industry and how you can help clients achieve great results despite these hindrances.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Define inclusivity and empathy as they relate to client coaching and programming
  • Identify and evolve methods used for client programming and goal-setting to be more inclusive
  • Prioritize stages of Emotional Intelligence in relation to client success
  • Initiate systems and processes for inclusive and empathetic client-centered approaches in fitness
