San Diego, Calif., MARCH 8, 2021 – Recent research studies reveal preliminary evidence that the American Council on Exercise’s Integrated Fitness Training Model (ACE IFT Model®) and the ACE Mover Method are effective in providing personalized exercise programming to improve a client’s cardiometabolic health and facilitate healthy lifestyle changes.

Both research studies provide very encouraging findings that personalized exercise programming using the ACE IFT Model and person-centered philosophies like the ACE Mover Method are effective in helping clients achieve improved fitness levels and healthy behavior change,” said Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D., ACE president and chief science officer.

Research participants within the ACE IFT Model study experienced favorable changes in body fat percentage, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and VO2max (a measurement commonly used to test the aerobic endurance or cardiovascular fitness of an individual). In the ACE Mover Method study, positive changes were seen across all of the behavior and lifestyle categories evaluated: less sedentary time, reduced stress and improved healthy eating habits. Each study was conducted by Lance Dalleck, Ph.D. and his research team at Western State Colorado University.

What’s most exciting is that these findings are easily translatable to exercise professionals at fitness facilities, gyms and even online, personalized sessions,” states Dalleck. “With the ACE IFT Model and the ACE Mover Method, certified exercise professionals are equipped with the necessary tools to design effective exercise programming for different clients with varying goals and abilities.”

The ACE IFT Model is a tool created to aid health coaches and exercise professionals deliver custom, individualized exercise programs built on a foundation of meaningful rapport and strong personal connectionThe ACE Mover Method is ACE’s core philosophy that informs the foundational skills for communicating effectively with clients to help facilitate the development of healthy lifestyle behaviors for the long term.
