ACE Has Huge Presence at IHRSA 2004, International Convention and Trade Show
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – March 8, 2004 –The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s Authority on Fitness, today announced its sponsorship of the keynote address given by Bill Novelli, executive director and CEO of AARP, a membership organization of over 35 million people age 50 and older, half of whom remain actively employed. ACE also reveals its 2004 Fitness Professionals of the Year. The 23rd Annual International Convention & Trade Show will be held in Las Vegas, NV, March 22 – March 25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.Winners of the ACE 2004 Fitness Professional of the Year Awards will be announced Thursday, March 25 in an awards ceremony prior to Novelli’s key note address. Awards will be presented for Personal Trainer of the Year, Group Fitness Instructor of the Year and Fitness Director of the Year. The ACE Fitness Professional of the Year Awards were created in 1999 to publicly recognize the significant contributions fitness professionals have made to the fitness industry. ACE honors fitness professionals who have excelled in the areas of client development, training techniques, successful marketing and revenue generation. Each winner receives a $2,500 scholarship toward continuing education in the health and fitness industry.
ACE’s sponsorship at IHRSA includes Novelli’s keynote address entitled, “Active Aging: A Marathon and a Sprint.” Novelli joined AARP in January of 2000 as Associate Executive Director, Public Affairs. AARP is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization. It provides information and resources; advocates on legislative, consumer, and legal issues; and assists members to serve their communities. Active in every U.S. state and territory, AARP celebrates the attitude that age is just a number, and life is what you make it.
In addition to Novelli’s keynote address, ACE is sponsoring 8 educational sessions covering subjects ranging from the female training advantage to fitness programming to increase profits and retention. All club staff, management and fitness professionals in attendance will greatly benefit from the diverse array of topics covered during these highly informative sessions. CECs will be awarded to fitness professionals for attending the educational sessions at the show.
