The amount of fluids you should consume during a workout varies, depending on your body size, how much you sweat, workout duration and intensity, and humidity level, explains registered dietitian Keri Gans, RD, author of The Small Change Diet. That being said, the American Council on Exercise recommends aiming to drink 17 to 20 ounces two hours before your workout.
