About
I believe in exercise and nutrition as medicine. Preventive medicine is the key to health and the benefits of physical activity are astronomical. Through personal training and public health programs, I strive to help others lead healthy, active lifestyles to improve health and most importantly feel better! I grew up in Carson City, NV playing a range of extreme sports such as snowboarding, wake boarding, dirt bike riding, and ice hockey. Recruited for D1 ice hockey, I traveled to Boston, MA to attend Northeastern University. A low back injury cut my varsity athletic days short, but I founded and coached the Women's Club Hockey Team. I also discovered creative ways to exercise to reach beyond my limitations such as dancing and unleashed another passion, performing, directing, and teaching classes. Through co-op education, I worked with a physician referral program that aimed to reduce and manage obesity, diabetes, heart disease, musculoskeletal injuries, and more; the success of the program to alleviate symptoms and reduce or even eliminate medications inspired me to pursue exercise as medicine. I graduated magnum cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and focus in pre-med. My capstone project involved teaching underprivileged kids how to work out at home without using equipment and utilizing household items instead, which I am expanding on and preparing to launch online and in schools, since it evolved into my own business, WOAH Medicine LLC. WOAH stands for Work Out At Home as it is a philosophy of healing behind the scenes! I graduated from naturopathic medical school in Portland, OR giving me a holistic, integrative approach to health and wellness. Additionally, I dance professionally as a character performer in immersive theater across the country and internationally. I'm Snax, the clown, because I am always eating fo
