Cardio—More Than a Warm-Up Routine
Cardiorespiratory fitness is the ultimate marker for heart health and decreased risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet it is often neglected by exercise professionals and perceived as training clients should do on their own time.
You can greatly enhance your clients’ cardiorespiratory training using evidence-based solutions found in the ACE Integrated Fitness Training® (ACE-IFT®) Model. In this course led by ACE Senior Director of Standards and Practice Advancement Todd Galati, MA, you will gain practical tools to deliver individualized cardiorespiratory programs—in-person and virtually—that facilitate adherence and goal attainment.
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Develop individualized cardiorespiratory training programs using evidence-based tools and techniques
- Utilize assessments to identify training intensities for each client based on their unique metabolic response to exercise
- Manipulate training variables (e.g., exercise intensities, progressions, recovery) to meet each client’s state of health and fitness and their goals
- Implement strategies to engage clients in cardiorespiratory programs delivered in-person and virtually
Reviews
very applicable to the fitness professional looking for a practical way to measure, assess, and reassess Cardiorespiratory fitness.
Nicely detailed descriptions of training zones. Too many trainers/instructors do not train/teach enough time in Zone 1. Excellent explanations included on why cardio-base training/building are critical for every client.
