In late 2015, the U.S. Surgeon General issued a landmark Call to Action on Walking and Walkable Communities calling for programs and policies that encourage people to Step It Up!. ACE has created two programs—one for community leaders and one for health and fitness professionals—both of which are designed to help people create walking programs that get people moving. In this webinar, led by Sheila Franklin and Suzanna Lennox of the ACE Public Affairs team, you’ll explore both of the ACE Walking Toolkits and learn how you can implement successful walking programs. You’ll also discover best practices shared by established programs and advocacy efforts.
You will learn:
- Benefits of walking and walkable communities
- Focal points of the Call to Action on Walking and Walkable Communities
- Basics steps in creating and operating a successful community walking program
- How to access and utilize the ACE Walking Toolkits and other resources
