Help Your Clients Achieve Their Goals

You might know what exercises you want your clients to perform during sessions or group classes, but do you understand the physiological principles that support those training philosophies? If the answer is “no,” don’t worry—you’re not alone. Many fitness professionals are not aware of the “why” behind the “how” of exercise programming.

With this workshop, you will gain an understanding of what metabolic conditioning is, and you will learn how to develop a safe and effective metabolic-conditioning program using exercise strategies from the ACE Integrated Fitness Training® (ACE IFT®) Model as a framework. In addition, information regarding proven weight-management and nutritional strategies will be presented. You will also have an opportunity to apply the principles and strategies learned in this course to specific case studies so you can enhance your understanding of the material. Upon completion, you will walk away with the tools to deliver those sessions in a safe, effective and fun way that keeps your clients coming back for more.

You will learn:

  • To explain a personal trainer’s scope of practice for providing nutritional advice to clients
  • How identifying Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) can determine the optimal level of caloric intake for promoting weight loss
  • Role of macronutrients and how they relate to physical activity
  • To estimate the energy cost of exercise using Metabolic Equivalents (METs)
  • Program design using the ACE Integrated Fitness Training® (ACE IFT®) model for clients who want to lose weight

Please note that there are no pre-requisite educational requirements for the Metabolic Training workshop.

Reviews

Dr. Di is unbelievably knowledgeable. She has great skill within the field, and also a knack for helping to break down some of the more challenging concepts as they pertain to mathematical comprehension. I wold highly suggest this class for anyone seeking to gain better understanding on Metabolic Conditioning, in addition to basic principals of client assessment (and really so much more!).
