Spinning and Active Older Adults

As an instructor of an exercise program that welcomes and encourages participants of all ages, you need to be aware of the special considerations for one of the largest core groups of Spinning® enthusiasts: seniors. Learn how to communicate with this group, taking into account physiological and psychological needs. Also you will gain specific knowledge about cardiorespiratory endurance, functional capacity and functional changes in seniors that are applicable to the Spinning program. Seniors also can constitute individualized programming of their own—including proper heart rate training and ways to incorporate elements that appeal to the special population.
