About Craig Johnson: I am a fitness expert with over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness field. I am the Owner/Personal Trainer of my own mobile fitness company, New Horizons Wellness and Fitness. I was one of the featured Fitness Experts on KTBC Fox 7 News’ Workout Wednesday in Austin, TX for over 18 months. I educate clients on fitness issues and nutritional information. I aid clients with their rehabilitative process from injuries and illnesses, and work in conjunction with healthcare professionals to decrease recovery time. I’ve written a pamphlet, “No Equipment Necessary” for beginning exercisers. I have studied many different areas of fitness, including yoga, Pilate’s, and plyometric training. I am certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. I have a Medical Exercise Specialist certification from the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehabilitaion Professionals. I am Senior Personal trainer certified by the Senior Fitness of America. My philosophy of training is based on the Five Fields of Fitness: Balance: body alignment, and posture improvement Coordination: movement to improve proprioception Cardiovascular endurance: to improve oxygen uptake and usage Muscle strength: increase muscularity Flexibility: improve range of motion These principles are essential to living a healthy and longer life, free of pain and injury.
