About

Ian Ramsey is a studying Sports Medicine at MSU Denver and is certified through ACE, RKC, FMS, CrossFit and USA Track & Field. Ian is a lifelong athlete with over thirty years of competitive experience in sports ranging from triathlon, track & field, cyclocross, orienteering and kettlebell sport. During a Nineteen year career as a carpenter Ian became a husband, father and a Type I diabetic. He understands the challenges people face when trying to lead healthy but busy lives. Hoping to help people with the same challenges Ian started a career as a personal trainer. His goal is to help people gain the strength, mobility and endurance to navigate the many physically and mentally challenging obstacles placed in their paths. Ian’s passion for health and fitness lead him to believe that if there is a panacea then surely fitness is it. A track star in high school Ian competed as a long sprinter for Newtown High School in Connecticut and the University of Colorado in Boulder. While at CU Ian discovered triathlon and was the 3rd scorer on CU’s 1994 National Collegiate Championship team. In 1995 Ian would go on to place 5th in his age group at the Sprint Triathlon National Championships held in Los Angeles, CA. He was later an assistant coach on CU's 1996 National Championship team. The lure of dirt hooked Ian and he began focusing on off-road sports like mountain biking and orienteering. Success in orienteering saw Ian ranked 29th nationally in the year 2000. In 2003 he was a member of the 3rd place Rigid Single-Speed team at the 24 Hours of Moab, Utah as well as winning an American Cycling Association Best Area Rider title in cyclocross. At the age of 47 Ian believes he is in the best shape of his life. CrossFit and kettlebells have helped him achieve a higher level of physical and mental balance than ever before. Over the past several years he has won competitions in track & field, kettlebell sport and short course triathlon and is currently ranked in the top 1
