About

My name is Joel Blake Ellen and I have been personal training and instructing group fitness classes since my freshman year of college. I started working out at fitness centers as early as my age would allow and have working out pretty much every day since. Ever since I could walk I have been playing sports as well as participating in dance and gymnastics. My passion for health and fitness really began in high school when I was bullied because of my weight issues.Ever since, I have had a competitive chip on my shoulder to be in the best shape of any person I come across. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a Bachelor Science Degree in Kinesiology as well as getting my first certifications in group fitness and personal training. I now have over seven certifications including TRX, group fitness, personal training and weight management . I work on the side for Nike, 24 hour fitness and spectrum but my true passion for training lies with working at the Biggest Loser Resort. I have never worked for such amazing managers as well as with such a motivating positive staff in my entire life and I hope to work here for the remainder of my career. What makes me unique as a trainer is my energy, knowledge, understanding and creativity. My specialties include High Intensity Interval Training, injury prevention and rehabilitation, boxing, tumbling (parkour), weight loss, balance and athletic sport training. All of my hobbies are related to fitness and the way I keep my self motivated everyday is by utilizing all forms of exercise. You may see me on a hike, swimming, at the gym, playing sports or just doing flips and hopping around like a mad man. Having fun is the key to getting in shape and we all get bored of our routines so have fun, work hard and hope to see you soon!
