About Erin Dawson: Hi, my name is Erin Dawson. I have 8 years experience in the fitness industry. I started out teaching group fitness when I was a sophomore @ Iowa State University (I earned a B.S. in Exercise & Sport Science in 2006). I became certified by AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) in 2004 upheld my certification and have been teaching ever since. The group fitness formats I teach include: hi/lo impact floor aerobics, step, kick, strength, boot camp, classes with senior citizen participants, Pilates, and Yoga. In 2005, also while @ Iowa State, I began personal training and became certified through ACE. I upheld my personal training certification and have been training clients ever since. I thoroughly enjoy exercise myself, including outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. I love group fitness classes and weight training! I have various areas of expertise including group fitness, physical therapy, tennis conditioning, Pilates one on one training, group and partner training, boot camp training and Yoga breathing and poses. Also, I just started martial arts training at Nick Tarpein's School of Martial Arts in Davenport, IA to widen my knowledge base so that I can show women and men the basics of self defense. Kick boxing and Jui Jitsu are great for not only self defense, but also an effective means for stress release, fat burning, and overall strength training. I am constantly widening my knowledge base to cater to all of your various needs, goals, and desires. I look forward to meeting with you and turning your goals into achievements and enriching your quality of life!
