ACE withdraws from IHRSA 2020 Convention and Trade Show

Posted: Mar 10, 2020 in ACE Press Releases

The American Council on Exercise (ACE) has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the IHRSA 2020 Convention. ACE has been a supporter of the IHRSA Convention for decades and a proud strategic partner to IHRSA across a range of topics and issues on the business, public-good and policy-advocacy fronts. The business needs of IHRSA members and the careers of many ACE Certified Professionals® are inextricably linked. Our decision was made only after careful consultation with public health and medical experts about a pathway for ACE during this time that is appropriately responsive, conservative, and places the greater good first. Much remains unknown about the level of risk presented by COVID-19 and how exactly it spreads. Given these factors, where we arrived is that we don’t want our enthusiasm for the IHRSA Convention to put us in a position in which ACE’s presence in a crowded convention facility inadvertently contributes to the silent spread of a virus that already has proven deadly to those most vulnerable among us.

We thank IHRSA for their continued partnership and look forward to participating in future IHRSA conventions and other IHRSA events.
