SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sept. 18, 2002 –The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate, today announced its professional service alliance with the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). MFA, an organization dedicated to preventative healthcare, has named ACE as one of their preferred certification and education providers for more than 350 facilities.
Culminating at the 8th Annual MFA Conference, Oct. 9 – 12, 2002 in Chicago, IL, ACE will work with MFA to inform, promote, and define industry-wide standards of professional excellence by administering the Clinical Exercise Specialist Exam and assisting in the review and development of MFA's Practice Guidelines as a MFA Strategic Alliance/Advisory Member.
“This relationship provides a vast networking and educational opportunity, we hope to serve as an effective advocate of MFA and through this alliance continue to promote education and enhanced professional development opportunities for all certified fitness professionals,” said Cedric Bryant, Ph.D., FACSM, and chief exercise physiologist/vice president of educational services for ACE.
MFA is the first, and only, medical fitness association to provide valuable resources to the medical fitness industry since 1991 and increase public awareness of the benefits of medical fitness.
“ACE brings the highest quality of education and certification to MFA members,” said Cary Wing, Ed.D., executive director of Medical Fitness Association. “The ACE/MFA relationship is just another example of MFA's commitment to its members to develop strategic alliances that will enhance member benefits and MFA's ability to grow.”
