Lynn Katherine Herrmann, PhD, MPH, is a public health expert, educator, and fitness professional who cares deeply about educating people to live their healthiest lives. Dr. Herrmann earned her PhD in Community Health - Health Promotion with a Kinesiology focus from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a professor of Public Health and Health Education at Northern Illinois University, she researches the varied influences on health-related behaviors, especially physical activity. Her numerous publications include recent research on the efficacy and safety of YouTube exercise videos. She teaches health promotion classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including designing effective public health messaging and communication. An ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, Personal Trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist, Behavior Change Specialist, she also serves as an ACE Subject Matter Expert. Dr. Herrmann is honored to expand her involvement with ACE by serving on the Certification Advisory Board.
