My Story: On January 10, 2009 I was a passenger of a vehicle that hit a tree head on. I was unconscious at the scene. The car was on fire, and I was pinned against the seat and the dashboard. I was in ICU for three days and in the hospital for a month. The top of my ball socket of my right leg was sheared off and my femur was fractured. My left arm was broken in three places, and my shoulder blade was fractured as well. In addition to these fractures, I had torn ligaments and muscles in my right arm and leg, as well as my knees and ankles. I received close to ten different surgeries. At the time of my accident, I was in the process of getting my personal training certification. The doctors told me my career as a personal trainer was no longer possible since the injuries I sustained would hinder my ability to exercise. I was even told I would have problems walking properly. I was confined to a wheelchair for 6 months. I created my own intense rehab program. I was able to regain flexibility in my body, develop and repair muscle tone, and increase my strength endurance I was not only able to walk properly, but I was able to perform most exercises in the same intensity before my injuries Less than a year after my accident, I received my ACE Personal Training Certification The loss of use in one arm and the inability to walk changed my life and the way I approach each and everyday. I am living proof that you can completely change your body chemistry. If you are one who thinks “I can’t get my body to look the way I want”. I’m here to tell you, you can.
