In today’s society stress levels are at an all-time high, and the pressures surrounding motherhood are great. New mothers deal with whether or not to return to the workforce, and try to find balance between home and work life. Taking care of their family is a priority, but they still need to find a way to take care of their own needs to stay healthy in mind and body. YogaFit’s Mommy and Baby Yoga will review the postpartum changes in women’s bodies, both chemically and physically. We will address a safe way to reintroduce yoga postures into Mom’s practice while incorporating Baby into the postures to build strength and endurance. Participants will review information about stress and postpartum depression, and how we can manage it through meditation, relaxation, and breathing techniques. YogaFit’s Mommy and Baby Yoga will share infant massage techniques that participants can teach to their students along with poses for little ones as they move through their first two years of life. Participants will take away sample class formats, yoga postures for Mom and Baby, meditation and breathing techniques, infant massage techniques, and simple songs, games, and stories to build strong bonds between Mom and Baby, keeping them both safe and healthy.
