Master the Art of Effective Communication

Designed specifically for health and fitness professionals, this interactive, 3-month course presented by ACE and IDEA will give you the experience you need to differentiate yourself as a professional who’s equally confident when training clients one-on-one, leading group training sessions, or speaking to large audiences at events.

Learn how to enhance your “stage presence,” craft memorable opening stories, and more. Real-life examples are a time-tested way to ensure your message hits home. This course will help you understand how to incorporate your own personal story as a key part of a powerful presentation. By improving your presentation skills, you’ll be empowered to communicate effectively and confidently with any audience.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Create and refine a 2-minute opening story and use feedback to improve your storytelling skills
  • Develop effective techniques to connect with audiences in a variety of settings such as fitness classes, a presentation, or pitch
  • Demonstrate progression in vocal and body techniques that enhance confidence and help you connect with your audiences

How do I complete this course?
This 100% online course is 12 weeks long with curriculum released each week and no requirement to attend live sessions. The content is arranged into six modules:

  • Module 1: Opening Story
  • Module 2: Understanding Your Why
  • Module 3: Connecting with Your Audience
  • Module 4: Practice Techniques
  • Module 5: Vocal & Body Techniques
  • Module 6: Bringing It All Together

Optional, 25-minute live Q&A sessions will be conducted each month, recorded, and later accessible through your learning platform for viewing at any time.

To earn CECs, you must watch videos, pass six quizzes, and submit two video assignments before the course’s end date. The video assignments are 2.5-minute recorded presentations due in weeks 1 and 12 of the course. You will receive an evaluation from the course facilitator for each assignment, however, the outcome does not affect your passing of the course.

You will need a microphone, camera, and a recording-capable device–such as a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or computer–to record and upload the video assignments.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Recorded videos will be submitted. Therefore, a microphone, camera, and a recording-capable device will be needed. This can be on a smart phone, laptop, tablet, or computer.

  • An internet connection
  • Speakers and a microphone
  • A webcam or HD webcam, or
  • An HD cam or HD camcorder with a video capture card
  • Virtual camera software for use with broadcasting software like OBS or IP cameras

PROVIDER CANCELLATIONS
In the event that the provider cancels online class course or fails to fulfill all sessions in an online class course, for ANY reason, participants can transfer to another upcoming session. If a transfer is not feasible, a full refund will be issued to each participant registered for the cancelled class. ACE is NOT responsible for any other expenses the participant may have incurred as a result of participation in the class or cancellation of the class.
