This session will prepare you to better understand your female clients' PMS and period pain symptoms, so you can design personalized exercise programming.

Many females experience premenstrual symptoms (PMS) and menstruation/period pain symptoms. Assisting in managing these symptoms with practical recovery and training methods may improve their quality of life and well-being during their menstrual cycle.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:
  • Identify physiological causes of PMS symptoms and period discomfort
  • Understand the impact these symptoms have on lifestyle and on the female body
  • Implement recovery management techniques and exercises that can improve symptoms and quality of life

This session will focus on smart strategies for training the upper and lower body while keeping the specific needs of women in mind.

Focusing first on the upper body, this session will examine biomechanics and kinesiology before reviewing several effective movements designed to enhance muscle balance and posture. For the lower body, this session will investigate common alignment deviations and function, and provide appropriate progressions to enhance muscle strength, endurance and function.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:
  • Understand biomechanics and kinesiology considerations for the female body
  • Implement several different movement techniques designed to enhance muscle balance and posture
  • Apply appropriate progressions to enhance muscle strength and endurance for the female lower body

This session will explore emerging research on hormonal influence on adiposity and menopausal transitions, as well as exercise strategies for this stage of life.

Female clients transitioning through menopause may experience a decline in sex hormones, specifically estrogen. Therefore, understanding the effect of this important hormone during menopause may assist you in supporting your clients during this phase of life.

  • Determine appropriate exercise strategies for weight management during menopause

How do I earn CECs?

Prior to event day, a course will be added to your My ACE Account containing supplementary materials and a link to access the virtual experience.

At the end of the live event, an attendance code will be shared with participants. Entering the code in your course will confirm your presence at the event and fulfill your CECs. If you need to reference the code again, a recording of the summit will be available in your course for 2 weeks following the live event.

Workshop Policies and Procedures

Cancellations

In the event that the American Council on Exercise (ACE) would cancel a workshop for ANY reason, a full refund will be issued to the participant. ACE is NOT responsible for any other expenses the participant may have incurred.

Refunds

All of ACE's live workshops are non-refundable programs unless approved by ACE's Educational Services Team. For questions, please call 800-825-3636. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied to any approved cancellations.

Rescheduling

Any participant who is registered for an ACE workshop and needs to reschedule their workshop to a later date listed will be subject to a $50 transfer fee and MUST contact ACE's Educational Services Team at 800-825-3636 to verify that a reschedule date is available.

Transfer of Registration

ACE cannot transfer a participant's registration to another participant unless approved by ACE's Educational Services Team. Transferring a registration to another participant is subject to a $100 transfer fee.

Hotels and Accommodations

ACE does not provide hotel and accommodation recommendations for our workshop events. Google is a great resource to search for hotels in the area of the workshop location.

Transfer of Registration

In the event of inclement weather, all workshops will be held as scheduled at the discretion of ACE. Pre-registered participants who are unable to attend their scheduled workshop may reschedule without incurring additional charges so long as their request has been received 7 days following the originally scheduled date. No refunds will be available. In the event that ACE cancels a workshop due to bad weather, participants will be given a full refund or option to reschedule (if another date is available).
