About
Fitness has been an integral part of my personal and professional life for as long as I can remember. I am a practicing veterinarian, specifically a small animal internal medicine specialist, and I've learned to balance my professional life with staying fit, because when I’m optimally fit, everything is better. I’m happier, calmer, more effective at work, and I think more clearly. My exercise of choice is road bicycling, but I have enjoyed running, swimming, triathlon, racquetball, wall climbing, cross country skiing, alpine skiing, sailing, resistance training, field hockey, badminton, ping pong, tennis, yoga, Tai boxing, ice skating, sledding, Frisbee, hiking, walking and canoeing. I think one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of optimal fitness that many people face is finding the time to exercise, and making the best use of that time. So many other things…family, friends, work, home renovations, studying…seem to get in the way. Many people start a fitness program, but it eventually gets boring or stagnant for them, and is ultimately abandoned. The reality is, none of us can afford NOT to find the time to take care of ourselves and maintain health and fitness. Fitness planning with me will help you define the specific goals that you want to attain, provide you with a customized workout schedule that is practical and sustainable, and help you learn how to monitor your progress. Once you’ve reached your initial goals, I will help you define the next set of goals to continue the process.
