About
My name is Ryan Evans ever since I was young I was involved in physical activities such as Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Football (both tackle and flag), Soccer, Lacrosse, Boxing, Ten Chi Kenpo Karate, Snowboarding, Strength Training, Bodybuilding, Hung Gar Kung Fu, and Parkour. In my freshman year of high school, health and fitness has become as much of a routine as brushing my teeth. It was during this time that I realized that diet works hand-in-hand with exercise. As rigorous as it can be for some, the pros most definitely outweigh the cons. It is a very rewarding lifestyle, which can allow a person to do many great things, which range from simple things such as helping around the house (via gardening, walking the dog, carrying laundry to name a few) to the more dynamic activities (via playing Frisbee with friends, going hiking, or playing catch with your kids). I am a Boston native and know how important physical activity is because most Bostonians will agree that owning a car let alone parking is very frustrating in the city, and mostly prefer to walk or ride a bike to get to where they need to go. During my time at Quincy College, I was privileged to have been educated in the fitness field by none other than the South Shore YMCA’s former Fitness Research Director, Wayne Westcott. I learned so much from him, and had the opportunity to see how the YMCA works first hand with people of all shapes and sizes. Not only do I empathize with the athletes who come and train at the YMCA, I also empathize with those who have special needs. I too was in that position myself, and am honored to be one of the many that gives them the much needed respect and motivation everyone deserves. Though we all have our own unique personalities, goals and lifestyles, sometimes we need a professional trainer like myself to help motivate, coach and support each person to be confident, fit and healthy.
