About Melanie Pagel: I have always loved fitness and being active, from track and competitive cheer in high school to all forms of fitness as an adult, I love fitness challenges. She enjoys teaching many forms of fitness from Pilates and yoga to bootcamp and spinning. I also worked in an Occupational Therapy clinic as a therapy assistant to enrich my education and experience for special needs. My many interests include alternative fitness trends such as pole fitness and aerial yoga, which I currently teach and I'm learning Aerial Hoop/Lyra as well. As a Pilates Trainer, my focus is on overall alignment, decompression, and refined body movement. As a Personal Trainer I follow the same concepts while keeping the body burning calories and toning muscles through multi-joint movements and circuit/interval training. I work on fine tuning your muscles and joints while building strength and endurance to help with the functional activities of your every day life. I am a strong believer in the old saying “Move it or lose it!” especially since having two children by c-section and using Pilates as my main source of recovery and cross training to build strength and get back in shape. I am a graduate from the University of Michigan. I am also a professionally certified PEAK Pilates Instructor, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Group Fitness, and 200 hour yoga instructor. I specialize in weight loss and toning and often work with post recovery needs.
