ACE Announces New Certification Advisory Board

San Diego, Calif., September 16, 2025 – The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is pleased to announce establishment of its Certification Advisory Board, which will provide strategic guidance to ACE’s Credentialing Department in its ongoing effort to deliver high-quality certification programs to health and exercise professionals worldwide.
“The Certification Advisory Board plays a critical role in upholding the integrity, relevance, and fairness of ACE credentialing programs,” said Amanda Cass, SPHR, ACE President and chief operating officer. “For more than 40 years, ACE has been recognized as a trusted and respected certifying organization by professionals and the public alike. The formal creation of this board reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest certification standards in the health and fitness industry.”
As a subcommittee of the ACE Board of Directors, the Certification Advisory Board represents the stakeholders of ACE Certifications, including the public. The Certification Advisory Board operates with autonomy in guiding decisions related to ACE Certification Programs and is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Helping guide key certification policies to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards
- Representing stakeholders including ACE Certified Professionals and the public they serve
- Advising on eligibility and renewal requirements for certifications
- Reviewing internal quality management processes to help maintain accreditation
- Evaluating certification documents and program decisions
- Serving as the Appeals Panel for individuals contesting disciplinary actions
