With the popularity of endurance sports still on the rise, many personal training clients may request that their training sessions focus on improving performance in events such as a half marathon, marathon or triathlon. It’s important for trainers to understand how to properly train these clients to not only improve performance but to ward off injuries caused by repetitive linear exercise. In this webinar led by ACE exercise physiologist Jacque Ratliff, CSCS, a USA Triathlon Certified Coach, she shares insight on how to coach clients through resistance training – from dynamic warm ups to sport-specific cool downs.

You will learn:

  • Benefits of resistance training for endurance competitors

  • Why certain types of resistance training movements are either appropriate or inappropriate for endurance competitors

  • How to design workout plans for clients looking to improve performance and reduce risk of injury in endurance sports

Reviews

Very good refresher and reminder of the differences for endurance athletes. Since I am, and work with, competitive Racewalkers and Speed/PowerWalkers, it is a good reminder that many things are similar among the running and walk events (except the judges)

I enjoyed this course. Very informative and help not only for a handful of my clients but for myself as well.
