Body Weight Training: Perception Meets Reality - CEC Course

By: Bill Sonnemaker, MS

If your facility is low on available equipment, or you simply don't have the room for all the tools most trainers use with their at-home, in-club and corporate clients, you can still design effective programs using only body weight as resistance. Come get the facts on the many advantages to body-weight training, as well as information on limiting factors, proper progression, maintaining standards and preventing injury. All trainers need to be able to offer a wide array of body-weight-only resistance training options.

  1. Differentiate between a traditional approach to exercise program design and that of an integrated approach.
  2. Understand how to manipulate acute variables to achieve specific neuromuscular adaptations (stabilization, strength, power).
  3. Design an integrated exercise program based on using only your own bodyweight.
  4. Design an integrated exercise program basedon using only your partner's bodyweight.
