About Douglas Joachim: Over the past 17 years I have earned the widespread national attention of fellow fitness professionals and clients.  I am a frequent lecturer on the subjects of functional anatomy, core training, injury prevention and motivation.  In 1995 I earned a B.S. with an emphasis in exercise science from SUNY Buffalo.  I am certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), which is the gold standard of certifying bodies in the health and fitness world.  The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) has accorded me with their three top certifications; Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist and Integrated Flexibility Specialist.  Since 1995 I have carried the American Council of Exercise (ACE) lead certification.  Moreover, I am a Medical Exercise Specialist with rehabilitation and core training expertise. My experience in training and motivating a diverse client population, includes celebrities, teenagers, collegiate athletes, weekend warriors, and fat loss individuals. At the elite Reebok Sports Club/NY I was the lead Master Trainer whose responsibilities included teaching and training the trainers. On the varsity collegiate level I was a member of the Track & Field and Rugby teams.  Lastly, I have been published in “Cross Training for Dummies”, “Money Magazine” and “Women Fitness”. On television I have appeared on “The View”, “New York One” and “20/20”.
