A must-have practical training experience for personal trainers, ACE’s new interactive two-day workshop provides a comprehensive learning opportunity you won’t find elsewhere. Traditional personal training workshops are generally limited to physiological assessments, program design and exercise instruction, but ACE goes beyond this to include sports conditioning, balance and the core, weight management and the behavioral and emotional components essential to creating an overall experience for your clients that empowers them towards long-term change. This is the true art of personal training.
Gain the skills needed for a successful career in personal training and get your clients off to the right start using the latest in assessments, behavioral and motivational strategies, and ACE’s new program design model.
Upon successful completion, you will:
- Successfully develop rapport with clients through improved communication skills
- Identify essential psychological and emotional components critical to personal training success
- Identify readiness to change behavior and competently screen clients for risks to participation in exercise
- Conduct key physiological assessments relevant to your client’s needs and goals, including blood pressure and key baseline measures, body composition, cardiovascular fitness, balance, flexibility, muscular endurance and control.
- Follow ACE’s new training model to design and implement a comprehensive exercise program to enhance posture, balance, movement, cardiovascular, resistance, flexibility and sports conditioning
- Demonstrate and instruct a variety of total body, core, upper and lower-extremity exercises
- Apply appropriate behavioral change, motivational and adherence strategies to improve the overall exercise experience to facilitate lifestyle change
- Explain sound nutritional practices consistent with current, recognized guidelines and scope of practice for healthier eating and weight management
- Utilize simple business strategies to plan, market and administer your personal training business
There is a pre-requisite reading (1½ hours) for the Personal Training in Practice workshop that you must complete before attending. The workshop runs 8:00 – 5:30 pm on Saturday and 8:00 – 4:30 pm on Sunday on the dates selected.
