November 2010

10 Reasons to Attend the 2010 Symposium

symposium

The 2010 ACE Fitness Symposium is right around the corner. On November 3, fitness professionals of all levels of experience from all over the globe will arrive to the beautiful Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa for a unique, intimate, educational event designed to enlighten, strengthen and advance their careers.

What Last Year’s Attendees Said…

Excellent presentations from very motivating individuals. I felt a sense of "unity" from these speakers as each one spoke on the value of our current populations and the economic change that has affected the way people think about their health choices.

Enjoyed the interactive, active and lecture components. [There was] an even variety of science, exercise, tips, and ideas to consider. It was great was to earn CECs and meet other fired-up fitness enthusiasts.

Stay in San Diego for sure! I think the Mission Bay location is great because it is picturesque and conveniently[located] between downtown and beaches for exploring before and after the conference.

It's San Diego! You can't go wrong with this location. Guaranteed excellent weather and outdoor access for those visiting from the freezing geographies.

While there are many reasons to attend Symposium, we’ve narrowed the list to come up with the top 10 picks that truly make this a can’t-miss event:

  1. Earn almost all of the CECs you need to renew your certification (1.8 CECs for Symposium and more if you attend a pre-conference workshop).
  2. Even though it will be cold or even snowing in some parts of the country, November is San Diego’s sunniest month with an average high of 70 and a breezy Mediterranean climate.
  3. Hear the latest news and information directly from fitness industry leaders including Jonathon Ross, Peter Twist, Chris Freytag… and others you may not know, but should!
  4. If you’re certified with other organizations, the Symposium is approved for CECs with NASM (1.8 CECs) and NSCA (1.8 CECs), so you can earn all of your continuing education in one place, at one time.
  5. Hit the free nightly shuttle to San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter and check out more than 100 acclaimed restaurants, 40 nightclubs and lounges, bars, art galleries and shops.
  6. Discover the most current education on a variety of topics including sports conditioning, nutrition, functional training, group fitness, special populations, youth fitness and more. This is your chance to brush up on many critical subjects in a short period of time.
  7. Network with other fitness professionals from across the nation and around the globe at our welcome reception by the pool, complete with incredible food and live entertainment. This event, along with the networking lunch and closing-day breakfast, is included at no additional cost.
  8. Get face-to-face time with the decision-makers at ACE. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people like Scott Goudeseune, Dr. Cedric Bryant, Fabio Comana and Jessica Matthews.
  9. SeaWorld, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Old Town, 70 miles of beaches and more attractions give you plenty of reasons to extend your trip to San Diego a few days for a vacation.
  10. Listen to three world-renowned speakers—Pat Williams, Shellie Pfohl, and Dr. Len Kravitz—deliver engaging and informative keynote presentations to highlight each day.
