Register for Your ACE Exam

Computer-based testing sites are found at hundreds of cities worldwide, and paper-and-pencil exams are administered at a limited number of locations. For more information on what to expect on your exam, check out the ACE Certification Candidate Handbook.

Take a Computer-Based Exam

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must hold a current, government-issued photo I.D.
• Must hold a CPR/AED certification at time of registration that will still be valid on exam date
• Must register at least 10 days prior to exam
• May register either online (preferred) or by Mail
• First-time exam only pricing is $399 for Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist exams, and $249 for Group Fitness Instructor exam

Take a Paper-and-Pencil Exam

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must hold a current, government-issued photo I.D.
• Proof of CPR/AED certification not required to sit for exam, however, you will not receive results until you provide proof of current certification
• Limited number of testing sites
• Must register at least 30 days prior to exam
• May register either online (preferred) or by Mail
• Although you will be able to select a city and state for your exam, detailed location information will not be available until 21 days prior to exam
• First-time exam only pricing is $399 for Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist exams, and $249 for Group Fitness Instructor exam
