Press Room
For more than 40 years, the American Council on Exercise® (ACE) seeks to Get People Moving worldwide. ACE has been the leading nonprofit education and certification organization serving health and exercise professionals in the United States and around the world. With more than 90,000 ACE Certified health coaches and exercise professionals, ACE plays a critical role in getting people moving by ensuring that professionals working with individuals and communities are educated using the best available evidence and science-based information.
Central to the ACE mission are its proprietary philosophies, which guide how professionals support sustainable behavior change and long-term health. These include the ACE Integrated Fitness Training® (IFT®) Model, the ACE Mover Method™, the ACE RRAMP Approach™, and the ACE 7 Core Drivers of Healthy Living. Together, these evidence-based frameworks emphasize a person-centered, inclusive approach that helps professionals meet clients where they are and empowers clients to live healthier, more active lives.
Headquartered in San Diego, ACE collaborates with public health partners, research institutions, and fitness industry leaders to expand access to physical activity opportunities and improve public health. In addition to providing free, health and fitness resources based on the latest science, ACE also offers NCCA-accredited certification programs, certificate opportunities, and specialized programming that prepare professionals to make a meaningful, lasting impact in the communities they serve.
Research and Studies
As part of our mission to protect people against unsafe and ineffective fitness products and trends, ACE often commissions independent, third-party research studies from major universities across the country. In some cases, those studies have prompted action by the Federal Trade Commission against several companies making false claims.
