New ACE Fitness Service Specialist Course Offers Training to All Fitness Facility Staff Members

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Nov. 12, 2008 – The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s leading authority on fitness and one of the largest fitness certification, education and training organizations in the world, today announced a unique online course that helps fitness facility owners and managers deliver consistent customer service – or “fitness service” – training to all staff members.


The professional development course focuses on training staff members on basic health- and fitness-related information including how to properly use various types of fitness equipment and perform common resistance-training exercises. In addition, they will discover how to deliver a customer service experience that exceeds every club member’s expectations.

The $79.95 ACE Fitness Service Specialist Course includes modules that staff can complete in the comfort of their own homes or at their own fitness facilities at their convenience. Upon successful completion, staff should be able to:

  • Discuss basic foundations of exercise science, including how the body responds to aerobic exercise and strength training.
  • Correctly use anatomical terminology and apply an understanding of human anatomy to the needs of fitness facility members.
  • Discuss proper nutrition and hydration, including the USDA recommendations.
  • Explain to facility members how to safely use facility equipment including cardio machines, weight machines and free weights.
  • Understand and apply the core values that lead to outstanding customer service Connect club members with the staff and programs that best meet their needs.

The course can be purchased individually or clubs can join the ACE Club Partnership Program that offers this course along with a number of additional benefits including; personal training and group programming options combined with an exceptional customer experience.
