Scott Goudeseune, ACE President, Earns Additional Title of Chief Executive Officer

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2007) – The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate, is pleased to announce that Scott Goudeseune has earned the additional title of chief executive officer.

“Over the past year as president, as well as his eight year tenure at ACE, Scott clearly has demonstrated his commitment to the mutual benefit, growth and success of the American Council on Exercise staff and the organization as a whole,” said Glen Grodem, ACE Chairman of the Board of Directors. “He has and continues to demonstrate progressive concepts and commands professional integrity; we are proud to add this distinction to his role at ACE.”

Goudeseune has more than 20 years experience in operations, sales and marketing for fitness and consumer-based companies. He oversees all aspects of operations and provides extensive leadership and direction for all business activities. Goudeseune is continuously updating and streamlining all methods and procedures within the organization to leverage the latest technologies and health and fitness training and educational offerings.

Most recently, he has spearheaded the development of ACE’s effort to establish and enhance an influential, powerful and unified political voice for the fitness industry. Focused on increasing the number of ACE-certified fitness professionals who actively participate in grassroots advocacy, he is committed to work to pass laws that will help affect societal changes toward a more fit America.

He joined ACE in 2000 as Vice President of Sales & Business Development. In 2003, he was assigned the Vice President of Operations position, from there he took on the role of Chief Operating Officer and in 2006, Goudeseune was promoted to President.

During his tenure with the company, ACE has earned accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), become a National Training Center for the American Heart Association and expanded key business relationships with leaders inside and outside the fitness industry.

Prior to joining ACE, Goudeseune was the vice president of U.S. sales for Reebok CCS Fitness in Aurora, Colo., where he was responsible for commercial and specialty retail sales of Reebok's fitness equipment line totaling $18 million annually. Before joining Reebok, Goudeseune worked as the manager of learning and development of U.S. sales for Coors Brewing Co. in Golden, CO.

In his free time, Scott pursues his favorite passion - gourmet cooking. His primary residence is in Littleton, Co. with Barbara, his wife of 24 years, and their two children, Chris and Amanda.
