ACE Appoints Todd Galati Research Scientist/Resource Center Manager

San Diego, Calif. – August 31, 2005 - The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate, today announced that Todd Galati has joined ACE as a research scientist and the Resource Center manager. Galati will assist in the development of ACE continuing education curriculum and provide expert exercise science content for the consumer and professional portions of the ACE Web site ( ) and ACE-certified professional inquiries.

In addition, Galati will be responsible for managing the ACE Resource Center, including the collection of, cataloging and summary of research and educational materials for use by ACE and for distribution to fitness professionals, educators and the public.

“Todd is an excellent addition to the American Council on Exercise educational services department,” said Graham Melstrand, director of educational services for ACE. “His strong background in exercise science, including a master’s degree in kinesiology/biomechanics and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, make him a perfect fit for his position.”

A contributing editor to California Bicycling Magazine, Galati is an avid mountain biker and cyclist. His previous experience included managing elementary school physical activity and nutrition programs for the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Division of Community Pediatrics and physical activity consulting with the San Diego Regional “5 a Day” Campaign.

Galati is currently an ACE-certified personal trainer; ACE Volunteer Advisory Committee member; American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) member; YMCA-certified physical fitness leader and manager of the TREK San Diego/Clif Bar Mountain Bike Team.
