The course lecture written by Gerontology nurse includes overview of history of sedentary adults. Lab 1 includes 2 chair workouts designed for upper body strength, lower body strength, flexibilty, and balance. Participants will learn 45 seated exercises, 20 standing exercises for older adults populations, programming for 30, 45, and 60 minute class formats, modifications for special populations. Lecture 2 includes considerations for chronic conditions: Parkinson's, Diabetes, Arthritis, Stroke, Congestive Heart Failure, High Blood Pressure, Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoporosis, Breast Cancer, and more. Lab 2 includes round robin group teaching and programming. The course can be taken in 2 workshops -- 1) Pilates: Chair or Seated Pilates and 2)Functional: Strength, Stretch, Yoga
