This 2 hour practical workshop will equip group fitness instructors with tools to achieve and maintain healthy feet and ankles for themselves and the students that participate in their classes. This course begins with a brief overview of basic functional anatomy, physiology and kinesiology of the foot and ankle, as it relates to injury prevention and exercise modification. Participants will consider extrinsic and intrinsic factors as they relate to healthy feet and ankles. They will also learn about common injuries, how to reduce the risk of injury, and how to properly recover from injuries. Emphasis will be given to monitoring exercise form in a group fitness setting to prevent injury and promote foot and ankle wellness.
