The Discoveries Dance Home Study Course is designed to teach the experienced* pole dancer how to teach safely and effectively. Instructors will be provided with the tools needed to teach a safe, structured, student-centered pole fitness class. Participants will learn the muscles used in pole dancing, joint anatomy, safety techniques, injury prevention, classroom management, stretching for pole, progressions, conditioning exercises, proper grip and alignment, as well as teaching technique. Special attention is paid to teaching inversions, spotting students, and movement deconstruction. Movement modification is introduced for both the struggling and advanced learner. Class structure will be reviewed and a lesson plan template will be included. Participants will receive a 70 page color manual, a pacing guide and a DVD with two hours of instructional video. Students will be required to pass a written and practical exam upon completion of the course materials. * Students are expected to have mastery of beginner through advanced pole moves. This is a class on HOW to teach a pole dance class. It is NOT designed to teach new moves to students.
