In addition to in-depth functional anatomy revision via interactive DVD, the Essentials course focuses on five (5) unique skill-sets that all relate to the main three body areas: upper limb, lower limb and spine.. These primary skills form the basis of the course and the anacronym “R..E..H..A..B”: 1. Risk Assessment to objectively determine whether a client’s injury needs to be referred out as a matter of priority (deemed “High Risk” rather than “Low Risk”). 2. Evaluation of Patho-mechanics enables the specific assessment of movement dysfunction that relates to a client’s injury or poor performance. (the use of Slow-motion Video analysis is critical here for effective learning). 3. Hands-On Loosening Procedures gives a whole tool box of skills for freeing muscular tightness and myo-articular restriction, for the purpose of reducing pain and improving movement quality. Special massage tool are given as part of the course. 4. Activation Drills focussing on the neuro-muscular retraining of inhibited stability musculature, with progressions from Isolation drills, to iso-Integration Techniques (unique to Rehab Trainer), and finally to Integrated Exercise alternatives. 5. Begin Training Progressions teaches how to more carefully progress and regress exercise loading to prevent training error at a detailed level.
