Yoga by definition means to unify or to bring together, as in body and mind, for example. Balancing effort and ease, or strength and flexibility is at the core of a yoga practice. This state of equilibrium is constantly pulled out of balance, in one direction or another. The study of Anatomy and Physiology in the context of teaching a yoga class will bring together the physical and the mental. Fitness professionals will learn a language of movement and an awareness of the poses that will enable them to guide their clients through a safe and mindful yoga practice that yields results in range of motion and muscle tone. The primary focus is the Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, Cardiovascular and Nervous Systems with a unique emphasis on variations among individuals. Course is suitable for both Group Instructors and Private Client Professionals.
