Nutrition: Standard American Diet and what is the research on the new diets.

Course Description:In this 4 hour class we will explore what the standard American is consuming in a week. We will take a look at the diet in regards to the Macro and Micro nutrients; from this base we will talk about what we should have in our diets in both a macro and micro nutrient components. We will than strip away all of the media hype and marketing information and look at what is common in almost all diets that are popular and what the research is saying about how we should be eating to support ourselves and our active lifestyles. And lastly, we will look at the research of some of the most commonly used supplements in the fitness industry today.
