This course blends classroom instruction with hands-on, practical applications. Participants will analyze the physical requirements of tactical/occupational athletes and design training events and schedules to meet those needs. Because the physical requirement is broad-ranging, participants will learn to effectively blend mobility, strength, and endurance training. In order to effectively manage the health and injury risks faced in these populations, the course will cover best practices for wellness and injury control. A key feature of this course is the emphasis on problem solving; with the military, law enforcement, and fire departments facing numerous training constraints, it is important for fitness professionals to understand the unique cultural and practical challenges they will face when working with these populations.
