Functional Chain Mechanics and Exercise

This class will cover the major joints of the body and how they mechanically function. This is not like any other functional exercise class or like anything we have offered! Each major joint of the body (ankles, knees, hips and shoulders) will be covered as it relates to functional chain movement. After a brief overview of the skeletal and muscular aspects, detail will be discussed in the functional movement and mechanical patterns. The topics will then cover evaluation techniques, including body maps and movements, to test the individual joints for functional movement to uncover weak aspects or compensation issues. Following the evaluation topics, functional exercises will be practiced to assist with clinical issues, athletic goals and general fitness. The exercise presentations will include body weight, kettlebells, medicine balls, stability balls, cords, plyometric actions and more!
