Helping Clients Avoid Fitness Goal Setbacks With Nutrition

The clients of personal trainers often encounter setbacks such as overeating/lack of hunger management, development of frequent illness, lack of results from a given training program, and a lack of energy that may prevent them from reaching their goals. The takeaways from this presentation that personal trainers can share with their clients are: 1) Consuming the right amount and type of protein each day can help to improve satiety, increase the metabolic rate, and maximize the results of a training program; 2) antioxidant and prebiotic nutrients can support the immune system during exercise; and 3) B-vitamins are essential for converting food energy into energy that the body can use. Some current research findings on these topics will be covered. In addition, recommended levels of intake for these nutrients and good food sources will be presented.
