This workshop merges two important practical aspects to exercise performance. Through hands on experience, demonstrations, and case study discussion, an opportunity will be provided to understand the link between nutrition and athletic performance and explore the steps to creating and progressing an exercise program. Nutrition discussion will include understanding the metabolic pathways of macronutrients, effects of fuel composition and timing on performance along with pre post and recovery nutrient needs. The program design component will examine an individual’s goals, applicability of exercise testing, physiological variables to exercise selection and the art of exercise progression. This workshop will provide the knowledge and confidence to incorporate sound nutrition and program design principles into your exercise experience.
